Politics dominate the headlines. In the past few months I've witnessed a new dawn and a newfound faith in American politics. The primaries have been the most exciting so far in my lifetime and it's really exciting to know that history does not stand to repeat itself in upcoming years.
The Republicans have chosen their candidate. A man who can take it all the way to the White House and uphold certain Republican principles mandated by the previous president. John McCain has a great shot because he's "a liberal Republican" and doesn't represent the radical right wing conservatives in DC.
Then you have the Democrats who are still battling over super-delegates and important states. Clinton and Obama can comprise a "dream" ticket but neither is willing to concede defeat just yet and declare themselves number 2 to eachother. It's an exciting time, just as it was in the '92 election. That era was amazing. The golden age of hip-hop; the Rock The Vote movement; emergence of the young media saavy generation.
Now when every twist and turn just gets me all excited about politics... What happens? A sex scandal involving the governor of New York. Everything that turns people off about politics is included in this scandal. Man. As much as I'd like to be an optimist, I have to take everything I hear with a grain of salt.
