That race was pretty amazing.

The season finale of The Amazing Race just concluded and again, I'm pretty much in awe of the whole thing. It's currently my favorite television show, followed by the Globtrekker series and whatever features beach locales. Sensing a theme here?

I've always been the adventure guy. I grew up that way. Moving every couple of years or even just changing my situation, like going to and dorming in college. It's no surprise to my friends that I'm up for the random road trips to go camping, to go climb a rock or to even just backpack into the wilderness.

Most of my friends are city folk. There is absolutely no way you will find these guys "roughing it". I remember posing the question to the NYC on Tap boys. Those ladies gave me hell for even bringing up such an idea. Like I had grown two heads. But I can't be totally mad; they just didn't grow up the way I did. The quote that rings in my head is, "I don't do camping."

Anchorage was the last leg of the race. I've been there. Spent two days in Anchorage while I spent the rest of the week traveling down the Alaskan coast, near the Ozarks. That was in 2004. It's been a while since I have had an adventure and it's about time I did something about it. I'd love to go back to Europe...but I really would like to experience Egypt or Israel. Maybe backpack through Asia. Or even travel to South America.

Well, once I have a bankroll to support my fantasies...I'll just settle for taking over the urban jungle.
