Grown-up stuff.

I had some interesting discussions with the peeps today.

Lorraine and I discussed how great 'The Kingdom' was and how it was one of the quality action movies to be released in some time. That somehow turned into a sociological exploration of religion in terms of culture and environmental themes. Thank you Sociology department of Stony Brook University. We could never have had this conversation back in our senior year, when we were actually constructing our final sociology projects for our degrees. Goes to show how life experience and age can change what we focus on. CNN (for me, BBC America) is watched more than MTV these days...

After a lengthy online conversation with Lo, I decided I needed to head to the mall and accomplish the goal of getting some birthday presents for my best friend's 25th birthday next week. I had Vince tag along and later on, Mike met us up for coffee. We spoke about relationships. I won't bore you with the details but to even talk about how to avoid relationship pitfalls and how to remedy situations were some of the finer points of discussion.

Three years ago I would have made fun of these sorts of lengthy "adult" talks. Only because three years ago I was a jackass without a life plan. After some tough love and life lessons, boy have I changed my tune. Still, it's a little sad to say that the highlight of my week was paying my electric bill.
