Other than a great excuse to have a super long weekend away from work; it's our great nation's birthday.
We celebrate diversity and enjoy freedoms that were not always available to us. That stands for a lot, so enjoy today, but don't forget those who have been fighting on those frontlines so that we can sit here and address issues about everything under the sun.
I may not agree with government policy or support mainstream values, as a good citizen should, but that's the beauty of being an American...we have a platform to voice those opinions, radical as they may be.
And on a side note...
To the caucasian people who looked at my family this weekend and called us all sorts of unsavory names. You should not be suprised that I will start shit in the middle of a gas station. I'm not the docile, model-minority, de-sexualized Asian man you perceive me to be. I grew up in the "hood" and I'm not afraid to get "hood" on your ass if you start up with the racial name-calling.
I'm just sad my mom had to see me like that.
