Nice guys can finish first!

TK and Rachel kept their cool throughout the entire race and they pulled out a win that seemed unlikely until the last 15 minutes of the show (when it really could have been 45 minutes no thanks to video editing). There is definitely something to be said about not losing your top when it comes down to stressful situations.

Have I mentioned I love the Amazing Race? How I yearn to be one of the teams on that Emmy-winning reality show? And how it's the only televised contest that you can genuinely learn from without exploiting yourself? Awesome!

Ron and Christina did a great job, although Ron reminds me of my own Pops. I don't think I'd ever race with my dad, only because our hard headed ways will only end in failure. (I get my stubborn-ness from my Pops, what can I say? It's a Generoso trait.)

Vince, I got the video cam ready...let's tape our audition submission!

That race was pretty amazing.

The season finale of The Amazing Race just concluded and again, I'm pretty much in awe of the whole thing. It's currently my favorite television show, followed by the Globtrekker series and whatever features beach locales. Sensing a theme here?

I've always been the adventure guy. I grew up that way. Moving every couple of years or even just changing my situation, like going to and dorming in college. It's no surprise to my friends that I'm up for the random road trips to go camping, to go climb a rock or to even just backpack into the wilderness.

Most of my friends are city folk. There is absolutely no way you will find these guys "roughing it". I remember posing the question to the NYC on Tap boys. Those ladies gave me hell for even bringing up such an idea. Like I had grown two heads. But I can't be totally mad; they just didn't grow up the way I did. The quote that rings in my head is, "I don't do camping."

Anchorage was the last leg of the race. I've been there. Spent two days in Anchorage while I spent the rest of the week traveling down the Alaskan coast, near the Ozarks. That was in 2004. It's been a while since I have had an adventure and it's about time I did something about it. I'd love to go back to Europe...but I really would like to experience Egypt or Israel. Maybe backpack through Asia. Or even travel to South America.

Well, once I have a bankroll to support my fantasies...I'll just settle for taking over the urban jungle.

Boob tube.

In the rare times I get to watch television, I make sure to catch some quality shows that both enrich and entertain my pretentious bastard persona.

1. Grey's Anatomy - Great stories, terrific acting (most of the cast are experienced stage actors), and addicting soundtrack. This is how television should be done. The writers make it a point not to give each character realistic flaws and not tie them up in a neat container, thus giving each a believability that makes them almost real.

2. Brothers and Sisters - My sister and I watch this. It somehow reminds us of all the crazy family experiences we've had. The writing for this show is believable and isn't snarky or corny like so many other family dramas out there.

3. How I Met Your Mother - The new "Friends"...Dating disasters, friendship and beer. Why would I not watch this?

4. Amazing Race - My mom's favorite show. I actually thought about applying after thinking "I can do that..."

5. Globetrekker - When I graduated in 2004, part of my job hunt was to pursue a dream of being a tv host...Globetrekker was one of the shows I sent an application to. Great show that I catch on public television here in NYC.

6. Heroes - I just recently got into this serial drama after I managed to get a DVD of the first fifteen episodes. It woke up the comic book geek that I put to sleep when I was 16.

These are the only shows that I make a conscious effort to make time for each week. It's hard to find quality programming that's worth my time and effort to record since I don't have TiVo yet. This week though, I've got to remember to catch Primetime Live and the new ABC News Special about Bob Woodruff, the ABC anchor who survived an attack during his Iraqi coverage.
