Keep it going.

With a nod to Mr. De los Reyes, I have been asking myself what is the point of having an online journal anymore?

On one hand, I always fancied myself a writer. Not a particularly good writer with traditional sense of beginnings, middles and endings; but moreso of a train-of-thought writer, complete with unfinished thoughts and run-on sentences. I guess "literal vomiting", would be a nice way to wrap up that idea.

Then on the other side, why do I need to share what I had for lunch today with the rest of the world? Instead of writing about my life, why can't I just go ahead and live it? Old habits die hard I guess.

One day, if Blogger ever has the option of taking all past entries and having them bound in a book (hey...), then I can have something physical to hold onto and pass onto my imaginary children and grandchilden. The daily snapshots of good old JD as he lived out his teen years into the limbo of his adulthood. Pictures would do the same thing, but I really should get crackin' on making back-ups of all my digi-cam pics from 2000 and beyond, before I lose them all. (I've lost thousands of pictures on two seperate occasions...good thing my friends like the right-click and save what I've shared over Xanga, Asian Avenue, Friendster and Snapfish.)

Anyway, as long as I have something to say, my journal; whether it be Blogger, Xanga, LJ or the next incarnation...my journal will be my platform for my ideas, my thoughts, my dreams and (for some folks) my pictures.
