I get a brand new phone, because my classic, we will call it classic, Nokia, has been dropped, scratched and kicked down the stairwell for the very last time. And now IPhone comes out. What the...? Well, Miguel actually told me I'd be better off waiting but the phone is essential to my job hunt when I'm not home to answer the apartment phone half the time and at work most of the day (looking for jobs and my current job is a big no-no and common sense applies here.) Frustration ensues because I can actually write it off on my taxes because I figured out a nice way to do so. I don't think the IRS reads this, so I should be good.
Yesterday, the great borough of Manhattan was enveloped in a cloud that can only be described as "passing gas". Imagine turning on a gas stove that doesn't catch a light and spending your whole morning inhaling all of that in. The smell triggered all sorts of emergency phone calls and building evacuations across the city...but oddly not my office, which incidentally is on the West Side, nearer to Jersey where the gas originated was not evacutated, or even fire-drilled for that matter. Damn Jersey.
If it's not one thing it's another for New York. Last year it was the huge transit strike that shut down all five boroughs...the year before was the blackout in which people were trapped wherever they were for a few days...and before that was one for the history books.
The dance crew had a second set of auditions tonight...looks like our numbers might pass 30 altogether. That kind of number is foreign to us when we had 6 at most and members came and went... All i can is that I've seen it from the ground up and more projects are being lined up for us. It's all positive.
Upcoming three-day weekend aka Eunice's 25th Kill-Your-Liver-Fest, Chicago coming up at the end of the month and LJ's 25th in February. I don't know how my wallet is going to survive first quarter.
